Special 2007 action with Dutch bands and acts in France
During the next couple of months, a special called 'Focus on France' will put a number of new Dutch bands and acts in the spotlight in France. The focus is part of the Dutch musicXport.nl initiative, a project of Buma Cultuur and the Dutch Rock & Pop Institute (NPI) to enhance possibilities for Dutch music abroad. For the Focus on France, special actions take place at several French festivals, while they also included a CD insert in Rock & Folk Magazine for the past April issue.
As part of the French Focus, special showcases and artists presentations for Dutch bands like Within Temptation, Alamo Race Track, Pete Philly & Perquisite, zZz and Zuco 103 take place at Europavox, Hellfest, Festival Musique Latine and other festivals. The Nouvelle Vague Hollandaise CD, with acts such as Alamo Race Track, Gem, Racoon and Johan, was inserted in the Rock & Folk Magazine issue of last April.
Also scheduled is a special showcase in Paris in co-operation with Rock & Folk and le Mouv at le Bataclan in Paris with Suicidal Birds, zZz and Alamo Race Track on the 24th of September. The MySpace page highlights the coming actions concerning this initiative. Last but not least, the French radiostation le Mouv pays extra attention to Dutch music. On the Le Mouv website the 21 tracks from the Nouvelle Vague Hollandaise CD can be listened to, while several tracks can be downloaded on the Les Independants website.
