Radio 2 keert deze week van 15 tot en met 19 juni terug naar de roemruchte jaren tachtig. ‘Made in the Eighties’ verwent de luisteraar met het ultieme jaren 80-gevoel.
Muziek van Michael Jackson, Michael McDonald, Toto en Duran Duran komt zeker voorbij. Maar ook ultieme jaren 80-iconen als Kim Wilde, Simple Minds, U2 en Doe Maar zijn te horen. Alle programma’s besteden aandacht aan het decennium. Bovendien spelen luisteraars de hele week, in ieder programma, het introspel. De finale is te horen in De Heer Ontwaakt op vrijdag 19 juni. Die dag sluit Radio 2 tevens tussen 09.00 tot 19.00 uur Made in the Eighties af met de Eighties Top 100; de honderd favoriete platen van de luisteraar uit de jaren 80.
Bezoekers van de Radio 2-website kunnen tijdens ‘Made in the Eighties’ een persoonlijke virtuele muziekkoffer samenstellen. In iedere koffer passen maximaal tien van de eigen favoriete Eighties-hits. Deze tien nummers tellen mee voor de Eighties Top 100. De meest gekozen plaat staat op vrijdag 19 juni op nummer 1. Vanaf 13 juni kunnen luisteraars hun Eighties-muziekkoffer vullen op Radio 2.
