Dutch folk band Town of Saints releases their new single ‘Up In Smoke’ as the first single of a new album, about which more info will follow soon. The single is available now everywhere. The band also announces a Dutch tour for this fall, for which tickets are on sale now.
Upon releasing ‘No Place Like This’, Town of Saints’ previous album, followed a year full of tours and festivals. After it came a period of reflection, where the band almost decided to call it quits. This changed when Harmen and Heta all of a sudden played some duo shows and acoustic band shows again. Back to the beginning, achieving as much as possible with as few resources as possible. Subsequently there was inspiration for new music, with ‘Up In Smoke’ as a first taste of what’s to come.
Harmen about their new single: “Up In Smoke' is a rather dark contemplation, describing the utter futility of our existence in a not too subtle way. The tune of the eternal defeatist, a drunk chorus conducted by a harbinger of doom… Perhaps one way to cope with the ‘end of the world’ is to drop everything you are doing, get wasted and never look back again. This is all in jest, of course and terribly exaggerated. Although… '”
