Glee-acteur Mike O'Malley schreef essay over Buffalo Tom
De release van het nieuwe album van Buffalo Tom 'Skins' is verplaatst naar 7 maart. Rond die datum is de band in de Benelux voor 3 shows; op 5 maart in Vera, Groningen, 6 maart in AB, Brussel en 7 maart in de Melkweg, Amsterdam.
Skins is de opvolger van het goed ontvangen Three Easy Pieces (2007), waarmee Buffalo Tom na een stilte van 9 jaar weer helemaal terug was. Op Skins, het eerste album op het eigen label van de band (Scrawny Records), is ook Tanya Donnelly (Belly, Breeders, Throwing Muses) te horen op het nummer Don't Forget Me. Het nieuwe album staat vol met stevige catchy rockers. Maar ook de typische van pijn doordrongen ballads ontbreken niet. Kortom, het oude vertrouwde Buffalo Tom die je weer herinneren aan waarom de band zo bijzonder is voor velen, waaronder Jon Stewart die de band vroeg op te treden in zijn laatste talkshow bij MTV.
Schrijver en acteur Mike O'Malley, wiens ster inmiddels rijzende is door zijn bijdrage aan de TV-serie Glee, is zo'n groot fan van de band dat hij vroeg of hij de biografie voor Skins mocht schrijven. Hierin beschrijft hij het het moment waarop hij de band ontdekte ten tijd van de release van het album Big Letter Day (1994):
