De legendarische zanger Ian Hunter (1939), is het meest bekend geworden als leadzanger en gitarist van de groep Mott The Hoople. Deze groep was actief tussen 1969 en 1974 en scoorde hits als "All the young dudes", "All the way from Memphis", "The golden age of rock n roll". 8 Albums verschenen in 5 jaar tijd.
