De musical 'Chicago' is -zoals verwacht- de grote winnaar geworden, met maar liefst 6 Oscars, van de Oscar-uitreiking die afgelopen zondag (23 maart) in LA werd gehouden. De musical was genomineerd voor 13 Oscars. De 6 Oscars waren voor: 'Best Picture', 'Best Supporting Actress' (Catherina Zeta-Jones), 'Best Art Direction','Best Costumes', 'Best Sound', 'Best Editing'.Eminem won een Oscar voor 'Best Song' met 'Lose Yourself' (uit '8 Mile'). Adrien Brody ("The Pianist") won de Oscar voor 'Best Actor'. Chris Cooper won een Oscar voor 'Best Supporting actor ("Adaptation").
